Look at the Stars at JCCC

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College science department presents an Evening with the Stars at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in Craig Community Auditorium on the second floor of the General Education Building.

Doug Patterson, associate professor, astronomy, will give a presentation on What’s in a Name, Really? Pluto and the Other Dwarf Planets.

Following Patterson’s presentation, weather permitting, William Koch, associate professor, astronomy, will oversee night sky observing at the Paul Tebbe Observatory located on the roof of the Classroom Laboratory Building. Some objects of note that will be viewable are the Ring Nebula, Great Cluster in Hercules, Andromeda Galaxy and the moon.
