ACT Test Information
Program Expenses | ACT Test Info | Application Forms | Course Sequence The ACT assessment provides estimates of a student's academic and out-of-class abilities and is required of all ITP applicants. Candidates must have applied to the JCCC program before testing. Results of ACT tests taken prior to February 15, 2005, are not acceptable. In order to be eligible for an interview you must score a minimum of 18 on both the Composite and English portions. NOTE: If you have received a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution by the program deadline date, ACT results are not required. The ACT consists of a battery of (a) four timed academic tests, (b) Student Profile Section, and (c) Interest Inventory (optional).
For each of the four tests, the number of correct responses is the raw score. The raw scores are then converted to standard scores on a scale that ranges from 1 (low) to 36 (high). NOTE: You may not retake the ACT assessment within 60 days of your last test date. If you do, your scores will be canceled and your fee will not be refunded. This restriction applies to all forms of testing except testing at national test centers on a national test date. (See Taking the ACT Assessment for details.)
