OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College men's soccer team extended its season long win streak to five games yesterday, with a 2-0 shutout over cross-town rival Kansas City Kansas Community College. The victory improved JCCC to 7-3-1 on the season, and upped their conference mark to 5-0-0, placing them in a tie for first with Cloud County.

On a blustery day, JCCC held the visiting Blue Devils in check when they had the wind at their backs in the first half. JCCC's defense held KCKCC to just one shot on goal, while managing four shots against the wind. With the wind, JCCC continued to pressure the Blue Devil defense, and with 29 minutes left in the second half, JCCC sophomore Austin Knipp found the back of the net off a impressive pass across the box from freshman sensation Dustin Schiller.

The Cavaliers secured the win when freshman Addis Kenea netted his second goal of the campaign on an assist from Felipe Guimaraes. Sean Craddick recorded the shutout, his second of the season, and improved to 6-3-1 between the pipes.

The Cavaliers look to continue their winning streak Wednesday, Oct. 1, when they travel to Hesston College.
