JCCC golf team third at KCK designated

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College golf team posted a third-place finish at the fourth KJCCC Designated Tournament, hosted by Kansas City Kansas Community College at Rolling Meadows in Junction City, Kan. The Cavaliers fired a team total of 634, five shots off the pace set by Dodge City, and one back of second-place Hutchinson.

Two members of the JCCC golf team earned medalist honors, placing among the top-10 in the field. Freshmen Joe Krsnich of Wichita, Kan., posted a 36-hole score of 154, tying for second-place. He opened the tournament with a round of 80, but fought his way into contention with a second round 74.

Freshman Matt Salome, also a Wichita native, came in with a 160 total. He fired rounds of 83 and 77 to finish tied for 10th.
