Salome wins Bethel Spring Invitational

OVERLAND PARK, KS --  The Johnson County Community College sophomore golfer Matt Salome continued his stellar play this year, recently winning the Bethel Spring Invitational, played at Hesston Golf Park and the new Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kan. Salome was the only player in the 94-man field to finish under par, posting a five under 138 total.  Salome opened with a 3-under 68 at Hesston, and followed with a 2-under 70 at Sand Creek Station.

JCCC other four competitors all finished in the top-20, and one, Keith Erickson, was a top-10 finisher.  Erickson tied for eighth with a six-over 149 36-hole score.  He fired rounds of 74 and 75.

Mike Elafros and Nate Sargent each tied for 13th with a 152, nine-over par total.  Elafros shot 73 and 79, while Sargent fired rounds of 75 and 77.  Andrew Manley finished was one shot back at 10 over, and tied for 17th overall.  He had rounds of 74 and 79
