OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College golfer Miles Christensen opened his sophomore campaign with an impressive second place effort at the season opening Dodge City Designated, Sept. 8-9. An all-conference performer last year, Christensen fired rounds of 75 and 74 to post a 149 total at Mariah Hills Golf Course, in rainy, cool conditions. Christensen finished just one shot off the winning score turned in by Brice Quinlan of Kansas City Kansas.

Also in the top 10 was freshman Nate Allison. The Washburn Rural graduate opened with an 80, but fought back into contention with a final round 74, giving him a 154 36-hole total.

The other three players for the Cavaliers were freshmen Garrett Carver (164-tie 24), Josh Dennis (165-tie 26) and Matt Puhr (167-tie 32).

As a team, the Cavaliers finished third in the 10-team field with a 628 total. Hutchinson finished first with a total of 597, and Dodge City was second, edging JCCC with a 625 total.
