The awards are broken into three divisions -- scholarship, non-scholarship and state associations. Scoring for the program is based on the highest level of competition at which the member colleges participate. Scoring is based on a maximum of 20 points for each sport with the NJCAA National Champion in each sport receiving 20 points, the National Runner-up receiving 19 points, third place 18 points, etc.
Iowa Central Community College is currently first with 103 total points, 67 from the men, and 36 from the women. JCCC is second with 88 points, 29 points coming from the men, and 59 from the women. Butler (Kan.) Community College is a close third with 87.5 points combined. Other Kansas Jayhawk Conference schools in the top 10 include: Cowley (6th-70.5 points) and Barton County (7th-67 points).
