Cundith receives 12 awards for publications by CoSIDA

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Tyler Cundith, sports information director at Johnson County Community College, was presented with 12 awards for writing and publications for the 2006-07 academic year at the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) convention June 30-July 3 in San Diego, Calif.  His 12 awards were fourth highest in the country behind Nebraska with 18, Oklahoma with 15 and Notre Dame with 14.  The award winning publications were edited by Stacy Boline, JCCC publications writer/editor, and the Randy Breeden, JCCC senior graphic designer, provided the design of the covers.  Bret Gustafson provided the photography.

Eight of Cundith’s awards were judged “Best in the Nation”.  His men’s basketball guide, tennis guide, men’s soccer guide, cross country guide, softball guide, volleyball guide, golf guide and track guide earned first-place honors.  His women’s basketball guide, women’s soccer guide and baseball guide earned second on the nation honors.  The cover for the track guide earned a best cover award.

During his 16 years at JCCC, Cundith has won 144 national awards for publications and writing, including 129 by CoSIDA.  He has had 61 publications judged best in the nation, 56 by CoSIDA, four by the NJCAA, and one by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.  He also has had 20 covers picked best in the nation by CoSIDA.
