Cavaliers win JCCC Short Course Invitational

Four JCCC runners finished in the top 10, and three were among the top five in the standings. Leading the Cavaliers was freshman Philip Hickman of Blue Springs, Mo. He finished second overall on the 6k course with a time of 19:31.40. That effort ranks as the fastest time in team history over a 6k course.
Close behind were freshman Daniel Barlow of San Antonio, Texas, and sophomore Jason Rose of Louisburg, Kan. Barlow placed third with a time of 19:51.51, and Rose was fourth with a time of 19:53.21. Those two times rank sixth and seventh respectively at JCCC.
JCCC's other top 10 finisher was freshman James Carter of Kansas City, Kan. Carter placed sixth with a time of of 20:08.55, which ranks him ninth all-time.
Rounding out JCCC's runners were freshman Josh Lacer of Manhattan, Kan. (13th-20:28.65), freshman Rico Koth of Kansas City, Mo. (17th-21:03.40), freshman Brian Beachum of Wichita, Kan. (19th-21:13.78) and freshman Redell Frazier of Kansas City, Kan. (26th-22:22.74).
