JCCC to host winter indoor baseball showcase

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College baseball staff will offer an indoor showcase camp on Jan. 12, 2008, in the JCCC Fieldhouse. The camp is open to all high school age players looking to gain exposure and showcase their skills. All four year schools, junior colleges and Major League baseball scouts from around the midwest will be invited to attend this event.

Players will participate in a pro style workout and will be evaluated on the following:
• Running (60-yard time, home-to-first)
• Fielding (actions, arm strength, range)
• Hitting (mechanics, bunting, power)
• Catching (pop times, blocking, receiving)
• Pitching (velocity, mechanics, breaking balls)

Results will be e-mailed to all coaches and scouts in attendance.
