Cavaliers Lose Heartbreaker and Get Swept by Paris

Game 1     JCCC 2     Paris 3

JCCC freshman Brandon Droge pitched a gem but could not come away with his first victory of the season. He pitched six innings, with four strikeouts, three walks, five hits, and two earned runs. Droge left the game in the seventh with a 2-1 lead, but Paris pushed across two runs in the seventh for a come from behind victory. Chad Griffin hit a solo home run in the sixth to give JCCC a brief lead before Paris’ seventh inning comeback. The Cavaliers had a season low six hits in the game.

Game 2     JCCC 2     Paris 7

The tough loss in game one took the wind out of the Cavaliers sails and they never could find their rhythm. Raul Guevara took the loss while Scott Brady and Drew Mikkelson combined to pitch 3 1/3 innings while giving up no earned runs. Jeremy Francis and Andy Chamberlin led the offensive attack with two hits each while Brian McCulloch had a pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh
