Democracy and the Mexican Electoral System

Mexico will hold its largest election to date in 2018. There are 3,406 positions to be disputed, from President to municipal clerks.

This presentation will cover the strengths of the Mexican electoral system and its institutions, which have been shared across the globe. Consul Navarro will also discuss election challenges and the strategies for overcoming them.

These elections are critical to maintaining international collaboration – the means for which true prosperity and partnerships are best achieved.

Consul Navarro will speak for 20 to 25 minutes followed by questions and final comments.

Sponsored by JCCC’s President’s office, Model United Nations, Center for Student Involvement, and Arts & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences divisions.
