JCCC Veterans Club

The Veterans Club supports all students connected to military services: supporters, dependents, veterans, active duty, reserve and guard members.

The club's goal is to provide opportunities for veterans and military-affiliated students to be successful at JCCC through engagement in campus, community and social activities. In partnership with the PAVE peer mentoring program, we provide tools for transitioning to college and civilian life.

The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Veteran & Military Student Resource Center, COM 305.

Current officers are:

President: Geraldo Ruiz
Treasurer: Eddie Bravo
Secretary: April Grant

Advisors: Hidy Lopez, Donny Whitton, Kena Zumalt

Student Veterans of America (SVA)

Johnson County Community College’s Veterans Club is an official chapter member of Student Veterans of America, SVA, which works to provide veterans with resources, support and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and post-graduation. The SVA works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and veteran service organizations such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as government agencies to provide the best possible options to the country's growing population of veterans as they transition from their service to the civilian world and going back to school.
